Wedding Ceremonies:

Please be aware there are restoration projects ongoing at the fort which may affect the apparance of those areas being worked on.

Are allowed to be performed at Fort Ontario, however receptions are no longer possible in most cases.  No private function at the fort can be allowed to adversely impact public visitation.  Tents, tables, and seating can be rented from an outside source, and set up a day or two before the day event. Please inform the rental company that access is by a narrow tunnel which most larger vehicles cannot negotiate.

The inside Parade ground is available from 4:30pm and after, the ramparts and underground casemates are available any time during normal operating hours.  The outside grounds of the fort are available all day until the fort grounds are closed at normal operating hours.

The acoustics at the fort are incredible.  It is a natural satellite dish.  No need for amplification.  There is little electricity besides, enough for a Cd-player

Wedding Fee:

The normal fee for a wedding ceremony for all the grounds, (inside and outside), is $250.00, payable to NYS Parks - Fort Ontario. Payment by cash or check ONLY must be received at least one week before the ceremony.

Accommodations:

Brides and bridal parties are allowed to park campers just outside the fort to conduct last minute primping; it's a great idea.  Otherwise, there is a small ladies room in the Post Headquarters available for use.   Groomsmen and Grooms can always find a place to wait in another building while awaiting their fate.

Pets:

Dogs are welcome as long as they are on leash.
